# T496 repair evidence, 2026-10-25
The current authenticated document and audit were read before the repair.
The public /T496 page returned 404, and the anonymous API did not disclose
T496. The repaired document was read back and compared with the inspected
proposal: every entry, parameter, and entry order was unchanged.
The four references to Chenevier Section 5.2 were changed to Section 5.3
after checking both the arXiv PDF and the published paper:
https://arxiv.org/pdf/2002.03707
https://jtnb.centre-mersenne.org/item/10.5802/jtnb.1134.pdf
The published Section 5.3 starts on journal page 569; the glue-stabilizer
identification continues on page 570. The critique's page-570 starting-page
claim is inaccurate, although its section-number correction is right.
Example 1.3 and Table C.5 were confirmed and retained. Section 5.3 describes
all 23 nonempty root systems and the quotient groups used in the check.
The opening definition now says "the table gives the order". The four
Similar tables links and the repeats link have explicit captions copied
from the corresponding live table titles. Their destinations are unchanged.
repair_check_T496.py regenerates all 24 expected integers from the published
quotient orders and Sage positive-root heights, then compares them with the
live table. It also checks the exact rank-24 mass, with rank-8 and rank-16
controls. A one-unit alteration and omission of the Leech term both fail.
The script ran successfully through agents/sage.sh on SageMath 10.9.
T496-repair-checks.json contains its output. This checks group orders using
the source's quotient-group descriptions; it does not reconstruct the glue
codes or independently prove Niemeier's classification. This repair did not
repeat every check described in the builder's original rigour details.
Four read-only section previews were rendered by the live site, then opened
in Chromium with the site's assets before and after the proposed changes.
The definition, comments, references, data properties and related-table
captions rendered without MathJax errors. These section previews verify the
changed prose, not the complete draft page or its first-screen layout.
The classical-lattice automorphism page still returns 404 publicly. Its
authenticated document exists and its Lambda,24 entry equals the Leech row
exactly. Release sequencing is for the controller and the human reviewer.
No publication, review, or offer-for-review action was performed.
